A year ago I stopped drinking Coke. I had purchased a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker that was working out very well. I would just add sugar to my glass of tea. I tried to make sweet tea once, but it got clogged with the sugar.
Two weeks ago, I decided to try my hand at making sweet tea. I found some recipes online and had been interested in the kind where you make a sugary syrup first and then brew and add water/ice. I think I found my ideal recipe.
Get a pot with a lid. Add water (it doesn't matter how much water you use) and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Bring to a boil and add 4 Family size Lipton Iced Tea bags. Remove from heat, cover and brew for 2 hours. Add to a pitcher and add 2 trays of ice and fill the rest of the way with water.
YUM!
